RAM (Random Access Memory)

If the computer is a worker, RAM is his desk.  Programs and data that are being operated on are opened in memory (RAM) to be processed.  It is volatile storage, which means that when the computer is turned off the contents of RAM are lost.  The more RAM you have the better.  We generally recommend you start with at least 2GB of RAM today.
